Time needed for the hike: At least half a day, depending on how long time you want to spend around the lake. We returned to the starting point after 5-6 hours.
We didn’t meet any tourists at all during the hike, not a single one, just a couple of local peasants.
The hike starts just beside the main road where the sightseeing bus stops in Yading Village 亚丁村, see photos below (it takes one hour from Yading ticket office to the village).
The narrow path to the left leads to Frog Lake:

It’s possible to follow the path to the right around half the sea, but not the whole sea.
