Trekking along Yulong River in Guilin / Yangshuo Ten-mile Gallery 阳朔 十里画廊 遇龙河

Location: Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Guilin Prefecture, Yangshuo County
广西壮族自治区 桂林市 阳朔县

Starting point: Gongnong Bridge (Gongnongqiao 工农桥)
End point: Yulong Bridge (Yulongqiao 遇龙)
Distance: 15 km

Time of visit: November 2019

How to get there:
From Yangshuo Railway Station: One hour by taxi to both Gongnong Bridge and Yulong Bridge.
From Yangshuo Bus Station: 20 minutes by taxi to Gongnong Bridge, 25 minutes to Yulong Bridge. An alternative is to walk 10-15 minutes (or take a taxi) 1 km from the bus station to the entrance to Ten-mile Gallery, and then take a sightseeing bus to Gongnong Bridge (10 minutes).

We stayed in hotel not far from Gongnong Bridge, maybe 1 km. There are many good hotels in this area.

A convenient way to get around is to rent a bicycle (a traditional one or an electric bike) at the hotel. It’s possible to go all the way from Gongnong Bridge to Yulong Bridge along Yulong River by bike.

It’s not possible to walk or bike along the water for the first 1-2 kilometers from Gongnong Bridge, you have to follow the main road to begin with.

The walking path along the river. A few stairs here and there makes it a bit tricky to bike, but it’s no big problem.

You have to leave the river a couple of times and follow the main road for a while before you can get back to the walking path by the river. Signs in both Chinese an English are helpful.

The highway from Yulong Bridge back to Yangshuo, if you don’t want to return to Yangshuo along Yulong River. There’s a good bicycle path beside the road.
