How to get there: 5 hours by bus from Chengdu Chadianzi Bus Station 成都茶店子客运站
But we didn’t travel from Chengdu, we hired a car/driver from Bipenggou 毕棚沟 (over 5 hours), and left Siguniangshan for Danba County 丹巴 (under 3 hours).
There are 3 main scenic areas, we spent one day in each area (click on the red links to see more details about each area):
Shuangqiaogou 双桥沟
Changpinggou 长坪沟
Haizigou 海子沟
Most visitors stay in the small village close to Changpinggou and Haizigou entrances. The nights are cold since it’s more than 3000 meters above sea level, and most hotels didn’t have any heating when we visited in October. But we managed to find a hotel with geothermal heating: Lotus Inn (see also a review in Lonely Planet), the Chinese name is 莲花精品客栈 .
Shuangqiaogou canyon is 7 km away from the other two gorges.
